HH Mentoring aims to offer friendly, affordable support to adults navigating life with ADHD and/or Autism.
What is Mentoring?
Mentoring is the formation of a supportive collaborative relationship where the Mentor aims to empower the Mentee to find their own solutions, develop skills and achieve personal growth. This is achieved through the exchange of knowledge, experience and advice, as well as active listening and questioning. Mentoring takes a holistic approach and can look at all areas of life.
Who is Mentoring for?
Mentoring can benefit anyone, but the support I offer is aimed at Adults who feel they may be feeling the impact of ADHD and/or Autism on their lives and would like to seek support.
Mentoring can be used alongside other forms of support or medication. You also don’t have to have a formal diagnosis of ADHD and/or Autism to work with me.
If you don’t have a diagnosis, but are interested in more generalised support, please do contact me and I will see if I feel I can help you.
What are the benefits of Mentoring?
- 1-1 confidential support tailored to the individual needs of the Mentee.
- Provides the Mentee time and space to think and focus on their own personal growth and development.
- Allows the Mentee the opportunity to develop new skills which they can take into their lives to help them achieve their goals.
- Helps the Mentee to build confidence and clarity over their own personal goals.
- Provides a space where the Mentee can speak to someone external to their lives who can listen without judgement.
- The sessions hold the Mentee accountable which helps with progress and confidence building.
- The Mentor may offer different perspectives on situations which can be insightful and allow the Mentee to consider alternative options to problems which they may not have seen before.
- The Mentoring relationship can be extremely rewarding leaving the Mentee feeling empowered and able to achieve their goals with the skills, knowledge and personal growth they’ve achieved.
What is the format of the sessions?
- Free 20 minute introductory call where I introduce myself, explain my role as a Mentor, go through the Mentoring Contract but most importantly I hear from you about your challenges, what you hope to achieve through Mentoring and establish how I may be able to help you. It’s a chance for both of us to see if we would be a good fit to work together.
- 1st 1 hour session is where we delve deeper into your current challenges and future goals. We then agree a plan of changes we can make to help you make progress towards achieving those goals, whilst acknowledging any potential barriers and identifying how to deal with them.
- The 2nd, 3rd & 4th sessions are all led by you and give you an opportunity to feedback on your progress and discuss any challenges which have arisen. Based on your feedback, we use the sessions to see how we can adapt the plan and continue to move you forwards towards your goals. Depending upon the individual Mentee and their goals, 4 sessions may not be enough, but in the 4th session we can reflect upon your progress and establish if more sessions would be beneficial.
- The final session is a reflection of your progress. We look back at where you were when we first met, looking back at notes from the first sessions. We take time to appreciate how far you have come, what you’ve learnt and how you can use those skills as you look towards your future.
